Everybody loves to win! A Christmas raffle is a great way to give everyone a small gift at a Christmas party.
Whether it’s at work, with friends, with the handball club or even with extended family – before Christmas, most people attend one or another Christmas party with lots of guests. And if you’re one of those who organise such a party yourself, you’ve come to the right place.
Successful Christmas parties are exuberant and put people in a good mood, but they are fundamentally different from a “contemplative get-together in a small circle”. They are also parties and this often applies even to larger family gatherings.
Although the atmosphere is different from the reverent unwrapping of presents in front of the Christmas tree at home, gifts are always welcome. After all, it is Christmas (or at least soon).
But how do you organise this with about 30 people, especially if they don’t all know each other very well? One popular method is Gift-giving, and Greatime has some tips for the best secret Santa gifts under $ 10, secret Santa Gifts under $ 15 and secret Santa Gifts under $ 20.
Another option is to simply hold a Christmas raffle. Find out how to do it and what you need in this article! 🙂
What Do I Need for a Christmas Raffle?
The most important ingredients for a successful Christmas raffle:
- Good presenters
- Wittily named prizes
- Labelled raffle tickets
Moderating a Christmas Raffle
Either you take on the role of the presenter yourself, or you find someone to do it for you. In my opinion, 2 people are ideal to host the Christmas raffle together. The main thing is that the moderator or moderators know how to spread good humour and present and advertise the prizes in a funny way.
Witty Named Prizes
The core of any good raffle is the prizes. Or rather, their presentation! But more on that in a moment…
Where do the prizes come from and what kind of prizes are they? Unlike Secret Santa, as the organiser you provide the prizes yourself. If it is a company Christmas party, there is a budget for it. Otherwise, the prizes are financed by the sale of the raffle tickets or you as the host give them away.
In any case, they don’t have to be expensive things. Because the joke of a fun Christmas raffle is the way small things are named and presented as big prizes. It’s not a must, but it’s also not wrong if some of the prizes or their naming has to do with Christmas.
Here are a few examples to stimulate the imagination:
- Tasteful male companion (Chocolate Santa)
- Cosmic object made of natural materials (stalk star)
- Emergency equipment for the skiing holiday (package of decorative snow)
- White Christmas with guarantee (Snow globe with Christmas motif)
- Christmas lighting set (pack of candles or tea lights)
- A pack of Little Red Riding Hoods (pack of Christmas-themed matches)
- Fireworks set for New Year’s Eve (pack of sparklers)
- Fitness equipment for the lungs (1 Christmas-themed balloon)
- Instant picture apparatus (pocket mirror)
- Extinguishing agent (1 sheet Extinguishing paper)
- Laxative for after the holidays (jar of plum jam)
- Hot stuff for the New Year’s Eve party (1 bag of chilli powder)
- A BMW (book of Christmas carols)
- Personally configurable database (notebook with pen)
- Large software package (packet of cotton wool)
- Vegetarian Christmas Dinner for 2 (2 jars of red cabbage)
- Glittering pendant (Christmas tree ball)
- Stringed instrument (1 brush)
- Fine broom for the dining room (toothbrush)
- Drinks for two to fuel couples (package of different teas)
I’m sure you can think of more fun ideas for prizes at a Christmas raffle. 🙂
Labelled Tickets and Lottery Pot
A raffle works like a lottery, except that there are only winners in a Christmas raffle, after all it is Christmas 😉
Once you know what the prizes are and have come up with creative names for all of them, all you have to do is make the raffle tickets and place them in a large container as a raffle pot. For example, you can use a large bowl or a glass bonbonniere.
If you make the raffle tickets yourself, I recommend using Christmas paper with matching motifs such as snowflakes, fir trees, etc. If you don’t have time to do this, you can do it yourself. But if you don’t have the time, don’t worry, because you can buy ready-made raffle tickets in a wide variety of colours and designs.
Then you’re all set to go. Have fun with your Christmas raffle!
