This crown cork snowman is perfect for making Christmas decorations with children! It’s quick and easy to make and also makes a lovely gift tag!
Every year we decorate the Christmas tree in anticipation of Christmas and reach into our treasure chest full of Christmas tree decorations. There are also lots of homemade Christmas decorations in my Christmas box – and every year I try to find the time to make some more Christmas tree decorations. The crown cork snowman is just right: it only takes about 20 minutes to make a snowman, the steps are easy and you don’t need many accessories! Every real handyman has most of the things at home.
I am fascinated by what you can make out of supposedly disposable materials such as packaging materials, lids, egg cartons and loo rolls! Some toilet rolls have already been given a new life as Christmas star made from toilet rolls and now it’s time to make Christmas tree decorations from crown corks!

How to Make a Crown Cork Snowman

First paint or spray the printed back of the crown corks white and let the paint dry.
Now cut a 5 cm long piece of red satin ribbon, place it in the middle of each other as a loop and glue it to the top of the first lid with hot glue.
Inside the top lid, draw the snowman’s face with an orange carrot nose, dotted mouth and eyes.
Draw three black dots as buttons on the crown cork in the middle. Now glue 3 rhinestones of the same colour onto them with the help of the hot glue gun. We have found that this is best done in pairs because you have to be really quick. One of you puts a tiny dot of glue on the lid with the hot glue gun and snip the other one should quickly press on the rhinestone.
Now glue the three lids together with a glue dot in the middle of each side edge for your snowman made of crown corks.
Cut a piece of the coloured satin ribbon and carefully tie a bow around the neck of the snowman between the first and second crown corks. Don’t pull it too tight, or you’ll accidentally separate the crown caps again.
Alternatively, simply knot a thicker piece of wool or velvet ribbon around one neck in a double knot to form a scarf. In the middle of the bow or scarf, glue the coloured button with hot glue (shirt buttons are ideal in size).
Grautlation, your crown cork snowman is ready!
