Break the ice at your party with a game to get to know each other. This game for adults is entertaining and requires no preparation!
Funny anecdotes, bizarre experiences and amusing stories from your own life quickly break the ice between guests who are strangers to each other. This game to get to know each other requires spontaneity and creativity and reveals more about a person than any small talk.
Important: Be sure to use a few provocative and ambiguous objects! This makes for laughs, arouses curiosity about the person and brings the most exciting, touching and funny stories to light!
Game to Get to Know Each Other for Spontaneous Quick Thinkers
- Duration: Depending on the number of guests, max. 30 minutes
- Accessories: Tray or basket, cloth, various objects (at least as many as there are guests)
In this game to get to know each other, the host puts various items on a tray or in a basket and covers them with a cloth. He places the tray in the middle of the table.
The host moderates the game in a funny way – preferably with an exemplary juicy story or anecdote from his own life. It is important that he makes the guests curious about the game of getting to know each other. He asks the guests to be as spontaneous as possible and announces that in 40 seconds everyone may reach under the cloth and take an object.
Now each guest draws one of these hidden objects and has one minute to think of something associative that has to do with his or her life. Their task is to tell a story from their professional or love life, a funny anecdote or to pantomime something. It is important that the object has a personal connection to the guest’s life.
Tip: If very shy and introverted guests are present, take the cloth off the objects after the 40 seconds. The shy guests may take an item of their choice first.
