Interactive, artistic, unusual – mini golf in Berlin is enormously varied! On the Nuture mini art golf fun meets art and recreational pleasure meets cool design.
Minigolf is one of my absolute favourite leisure activities, even though I’m not particularly good at it. But it’s just great fun to get the little ball over and through all kinds of obstacles. And cutting your teeth on the one or other course is just part of it.
In Berlin, there is a wide range of miniature golf courses, both indoors and outdoors, and some of them offer very special fun because the courses are small works of art and a very special experience. And that is the first of my 3 recommendations for minigolf in Berlin! Also check out our reviews of Blacklight Mini Golf in Berlin and Citygolf!
Nuture Mini Art Golf – The Playable Work of Art
Tempelhof Field has been home to what is probably Germany’s most original mini golf course since 2011, called nuture Mini Art Golf. Each of the 18 holes is a work of art in its own right. The name nuture is a combination of nature and future. 18 international artists designed a track here on one aspect from the range of themes: Nature, Ecology, Resources, Climate and Sustainability.
The aim of the innovative concept was to create a connection between recreational sport, art, nature, technology, science and social issues with this special miniature golf course. The result is impressive!
In addition to the visually exciting design of the mini-golf courses, the special attraction of playing is that almost every course is interactive. This means that you don’t just hit the golf ball into the hole, but also press levers and buttons, for example to operate a seesaw by running water, to set a wind sail in motion or to flush the ball through a toilet (yes, really!).
On some tracks, hitting the ball into the hole also triggers a response from the track, such as meditative sounds or chirping birds. In the current course 18, a fire even ignites in a globe. This is meant to symbolise the danger of an explosion in a nuclear power plant – a critical commentary on the discussion about restarting the research reactor at the Institute for Nuclear Research Berlin. Title of the artwork: Restrisiko.
The nuture Mini Art Golf Course is equally suitable for children and adults, fun-seekers and art enthusiasts, technology fans and the environmentally conscious. Incidentally, the electricity for the various gimmicks of the courses comes from wind and solar energy, in keeping with the overall concept.
